How do I know you are the right therapist for me?
Choosing a therapist is a very personal choice. My best suggestion is reading through my website and see if you find yourself agreeing or being interested in the content I have. You can also book an appointment and get a feel for my style and you feel comfortable sharing with me. I always recommend "interviewing" a few therapists if you have the time. If I am not the right fit, I am happy to refer you to some other options.
What is the best way to contact you?
Email is the fastest way to contact me. I am also available by phone. If I don't answer, please leave a message and I will return your call within 48 hours.
How often do I attend therapy and for how long?
It depends! At the start of our time together, we will develop an individualized plan that outlines expected timelines for therapy and what we plan to achieve in that time frame. Therapy is a process and change can be slow. Based on what you are looking for in therapy, we can determine how long and how often we will see each other.
Sessions will last between 45-55 minutes.
Will you collaborate with my child's school, my lawyer, or other services my family or child might be involved with?
I do collaborate as needed with other supports in your life. There are fees associated with this type of contact and we can review those fees prior to contact.

However, I do not work with lawyers or go to court with you or for you. I can provide documentation to you that can identify that you have attended therapy with me and other information that we agree to share. I also do not provide custody recommendations or take court ordered cases.
How much do sessions cost?
My fee for individual therapy (i.e. meeting with just to talk about your child, meeting with your child, or meeting with you) is $150 a session. Any collaboration with other entities, phone calls, or report writing will be at a prorated rate of $150 that is agreed upon ahead of time. I am also happy to discuss these fees with you prior to scheduling an appointment.
What does it mean to be a Registered Play Therapist (RPT)?
A Registered Play Therapist (RPT) means I have completed extensive training in techniques that include play to help children, teens, and parents (yes! adults play too!!) process their emotions and experiences. You can learn more about play therapy on my blog or on my Resource Page
What if I cannot afford your fees?
If I don't work with your insurance, or you cannot afford the fees, I have 2 slots available for sliding scale ($30-$80) depending on your income. Check out my profile here on OpenPath to get connected with this option or another therapist that also offers options for low cost therapy.
What if I have an emergency between our sessions?
If you are in a true emergency, please call 911 first.

In our time together, we will come up with safety plans that will help guide you through an emergency if needed. I am not equipped to help you through a crisis outside of business hours. If you need additional support, please see my resource page here for some ideas.
What is your availability?
I am available for sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Afternoons and Evenings

Currently, I am taking virtual appointments or in-person.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept any insurance plans.

I can provide you with a "superbill" to submit to your insurance if you have a PPO or out of network benefits. We can discuss payment options if you need support.

2. Email me
3. Call me

I am happy to have a free 15 minute consultation call with you to see if therapy is a the right way to go!

If you feel you would like a longer consultation session, we can schedule 45 minutes for a fee of $100.
Can I text you?
Texting is a great way to communicate: fast, easy, and convenient. I am happy to text you about schedule changes, but that is about it! Let's save the important talks for our sessions or a phone call.
