Covid-19 Updates

Covid-19 has disrupted our lives in so many ways. As we continue to navigate this pandemic as a global community, my primary goal is to maintain our health: both mental health and physical health.

Currently I am seeing clients either through telehealth or in-person. For in-person sessions, I am requiring masks at this time regardless of vaccination status. As the cases decrease, this policy maybe updated for vaccinated individuals. Should you choose to engage in telehealth services, here is some information about telehealth and some resources to support you with COVID-19.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the practice of therapy using technology, such as video or audio to conduct our sessions. I will be using an encrypted program that protects our connection.

Are There Risks to Telehealth?

With all use of technology, there are risks. Because we are not in a room together, I cannot control the room on your end. This means, there is a chance your confidentiality may be compromised. I recommend finding a place that is private and quiet that you will not be interrupted for your session. I will also always confirm your location in case of emergencies.

Who is Telehealth Appropriate For? Can Kids See you Via Telehealth?

Everyone can see me via telehealth! I have worked with all ages on telehealth, however, I have found some ages are more successful than others. Adults and Teen (over the age of 12) have done well on telehealth as they are able to manage the session on their own well. Children under 12 have had some troubles managing sessions via telehealth. If your child is under 12, I will recommend the parent or caregiver be present in the session to support their child. I may also recommend shortened sessions to increase the success of our time together.

Since You Are Using Telehealth, Can You Treat Anyone in Any Location?

Because I am licensed in California, I can only treat those folks who live in the state of California. If you leave the state, there may be a risk I cannot treat you while you are not in the state of California.

Can I do a mix of in-person and telehealth?

Yes! Based on our goals and needs, we can explore what would be best for you at any given time during your treatment. Please let me know what is most comfortable to you.
